Odometer Fraud. The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Camry, which was purchased via Facebook Marketplace. Shortly after purchase, the Check Engine warning light illuminated, leading the contact to replace the catalytic converter. Upon using a diagnostic code reader, the contact discovered that the estimated value of the vehicle was significantly less than the actual cost that was paid for the vehicle. The contact purchased the Carfax report which revealed that the actual mileage on the vehicle was 297,000; not the 107,000 shown on the instrument panel. The contact subsequently discovered that a fake Carfax report was provided at the time of the purchase, which showed that the vehicle was also involved in several crashes and had several prior owners. The contact reported the incident to the DeKalb County Police Department. The purchase was a private sale, and the contact was unable to reach the seller after several attempts.
Tire size is 205 65R16 I purchased two Westlake Tires from Advanced Tire in Missouri from installation on my 2017 Toyota Camry LE. After installation, I experienced abnormal vibration and tire related concerns. On March 30, 2026, the Vehicle was inspected by Discount Tire. Discount Tire determined that one of the Westlake Tires was separating and unsafe for continued operation, Due to the safety concern, Discount Tire provided a loaner tire until replacement tires could be installed. Replacement tires were installed on March 31, 2026. Discount Tire documented that the tire was separating and unsafe. I retained possession of both Westlake Tires. The tire Manufacturer, Tireco (Westlake), was notified and provided photographs, purchase records, inspection documentation, and replacement invoices. Tireco later approved a partial reimbursement related to the tire claim. No warning lights were displayed on the vehicle. The primary symptoms were vibration and the unsafe condition identified during inspection. I am submitting this report because a tire that had been recently purchased was determined by an independent tire retailer to be separating and unsafe for operation. the defective tire remains available for inspection if requested.
we have had multiple issues with this car since 70,000 miles. engine burning oil, no fix besides replacing it or keep adding oil. now check engine and check stability control system light are on. took to o'reilley to run codes and it threw all kinds of transmission codes.
purchased a 2017 Toyota Camry from CarMax in Ontario, CA, with a $12,000 down payment. I chose this vehicle for its reliability and fuel efficiency. After the first week, I noticed poor gas mileageâonly 17 mpg. CarMax checked it but found no issues. On September 25th, 2024, I purchased another 2017 Camry with 81,000 miles. After a short test drive, I noted squeaky brakes, a burned-out headlight, and a small windshield chip. CarMax replaced the bulb and promised to address the brakes and chip. However, a few months later, I saw the mileage increasing faster than I was driving, despite maintenance like oil changes, spark plugs, and tire replacements. I am now facing significant financial strain, as I relied on CarMax to provide a trustworthy, economical vehicle. This discrepancy in mileage is unlawful, and I trusted CarMax to deliver a car in good faith. I ask for immediate investigation and resolution to this matter."
Four (4) General Tire Reliatrek P205/65R16 95H were purchased on August 6, 2024 at Toyota Greenville located in Greenville, South Carolina, with mileage on my car at 138,174. At my last service in late December 2025, with 175, 777 miles on my car, i was told by Toyota Greenville that two of them needed replaced, with the others marginal. It was recommended by Toyota to have all four replaced. The promised warranty of these tires was 65,000 miles. I only put 37,603 miles on these tires, indicating severe premature wear and manufacturer defect. The tire manufacturer was contacted by Toyota about this safety concern, but little to no compensation was offered. The tires have been serviced at Toyota Greenville, and records can be provided (including photos) since time of purchase.
